December 1955 Miss Rosa Parks, she would not rise. she would not stand to empty her seat For another human being No better or worse. So she just kept right on sitting Cuz she was there first. Mister Blake who was driving the bus that day. He called the police. And the police arrested her and took her away. “The law’s the law” she heard them say. And it was. But Miss Rosa Parks was determined To no longer be humiliated this way. So they would not ride. They would not enter in A Montgomery city bus Where they treated a man like less than a man on account of his skin. And now the sidewalks are bursting. Some walking, some biking, Some in carpool. Some in horse drawn buggy and one on a mule. My dogs are barking I’m walking around But I’m not gonna stop walking ‘Til I make it to the other side of town.Remember that family vacation you took in the station wagon and you sat in the third row in the seat that faces out the back?
