Description: Montana Sapphire and Garnet Gravel. This is a 2 pound bag of gravel from one of the mines in Montana. It will contain 20 carats of Montana Sapphires and Garnets (rough, unpolished) material. One of the sapphires will be between 1-2 carats and can be faceted into a beautiful gem. None of the material will be polished or faceted. The picture of sapphires and garnets is only a sample of the type of material you will receive. The pictures do not reflect the exact quantity or the sapphires and garnets. I travel to Montana about once per year and I bring back gravel from one of the sapphire mines. To find the sapphires, take a small amount of material from the bag and soak in water using a strainer. Drain the water and carefully distribute the material on a good surface. If working in the sunlight, the sapphires and garnets will sparkle and can be easily selected by using a pair of tweezers.
