Description: here is a wonderful rare circa 1880-1920 Freeman Bros. Co. Charlestown Mass embossed press and blow mold beer bottle with applied tooled blob top and original lightning enclosure with undamaged porcelain "FREEMAN BROS. CO." cap. still has original red rubber washer and bail mechanism works nice. this old beer bottle from Massachusetts has embossed "REGISTERED" at top front upper neck and embossed oval slug in front with "FREEMAN BROS. CO. & CHARLESTOWN MASS" with decorative block script "FBco." in center. this 2 part press and blow mold bottle has very deep vertical striations especially at the entire bottle neck area and loads of unique air bubbles and very heavy whittle marks throughout bottle. no damage to embossed letters, no damage to porcelain cap, no chips or cracks to glass other than a small pinky fingernail size flake off one area of top blob side under lip as shown in picture. the seams on both sides can be felt easily with fingers as they protrude from glass. virtually no scratches to glass. bottle has a murky look to glass from all the bubbles, whittling and imperfections in glass. Freeman Bros. Co. or Brewery used to make or have bottled for them FREEMAN OLD STOCK ALE. bottle measures 9 3/4" tall to top of porcelain cap. base is 2 3/4" across and has a deep finished slug measuring approximately 1/8" deep. bottle weighs 1lb 1oz. please view all pics and read full item condition.
