Description: The Chaparral 2D coupe, first raced at Daytona, is a development of the famous Chaparral 2. It was designed to compete in international racing for the prototype sport cars. This Daytona version of the 2D Coupe features a movable spoiler similar to that used on the famous Chaparral 2. The chassis is the same as the 2 version which has been the winningest sports car on the American "Big Bore" scene. The car was piloted by accomplished drivers Phil Hill and Jo Bonnier but, due to mechanical failure, they were not able to finish the 1966 Daytona race.
