Description: Model 1878 INDIANAPOLIS ARSENAL Blanket Bag Slings Straps - Pair The pair of straps are punch-stamped "INDIANAPOLIS ARSENAL / C.W.P." on the adjustable ends. In 1878 the army introduced the leather sling with doubled brass hooks and loops to connect to the 1878 blanket bag. The blanket bag straps widen to 2-inches at the end which connects to the top of the bag and the hook end attaches to the bottom of it. Used, Very Good condition; with moderate wear, cracking on the leather, mostly supple, one has a bit of stiffening, and verdigris on the brass as shown in photos.
