The story is about King (Wang) Mu, who dreamed of being an immortal God. He was determined to visit the heavenly paradise to taste the peaches of immortality. His chariot was pulled by eight horses that carried the king to his destination. Counting the horses on the outside will show only five horses, with three more horses found on the inside of the bowl.This unique and excellent bell shape form bowl has a finely pottered foot and great use of negative spacing between the comically painted horses thus making this a very aestheticlly pleasing item.
