Description: Antique hand blown white striped South Jersey clear glass pitcher. Applied base and handle. No damage. Polished pontil on base. Heavy high quality clear glass. Attributed to Ralph Barber, a skilled medical glass worker who became superintendent of Whitall Tatum Glass in Millville NJ from 1900-1912. Barber is also known for his brilliant Jersey rose paperweights. See example last photo, not for sale. His skill and form are clearly evident in this white striped 9 3/8" tall handled pitcher. The mixture of milk glass and crystal clear stripes is difficult to master. The wave pattern was also used used in Nailsea products imported from England in Victorian times. A beautiful and scarce historic South Jersey piece.
