Description: This gorgeous pair of vintage mid century Danish modern black Swan chairs by Arne Jacobsen for Fritz Hansen were made in Denmark and produced in 2002. They feature a 4-star aluminum swivel base and black woven upholstery. Both chairs retain Fritz Hansen A/S, Made in Denmark 2002 manufacturer’s stickers and stamp on base. The “Swan” lounge chair was originally designed in 1958 by architect and designer Arne Jacobsen (Danish, 1902-1971) for the lobby of the SAS Royal Hotel in Copenhagen, Denmark, a building he also designed. Along with Jacobsen’s “Egg” chair, the Swan, with its graceful and organic sculptural lines, has become one the most iconic chairs of mid-20th century Danish modern design.
