Description: My second book came out a few years ago and consists of three parts: Poetry, 50 word horror stories, and short fiction (flash fiction and short stories), 99 pages, signed (Devine is my pen name). I posted samples below so you can see if this is your cup of tea. My writing is a mix of dark themes often infused with equally dark humor (like my visual art). I'm also a pathologist, and there is even some pathology themed poems (think body horror), including one about a very unusual autopsy, that is all in good fun. KAREN GOES TO THE PAINT AND POUR Karen flipped the table, paint and wine splattered everywhere. Using broken brushes as knives, her canvas a shield, she searched for the manager. Flash Fiction: THE IKEA PROJECT(For Ray Bradbury) The honeymoon was over, as they say, Diana and I, we needed a new spark. In the modular maize and blue showroom set between two chemical lakes, we chose the great outdoors with a view of our yard and ducks wallowing in our pond, while we gently swayed in our new wooden couch swing. We loaded it into our Volvo Wagon and she gave me a warm smile suggesting a passion renewed. With our Hamilton Hound Benedict (Bennie for short) by our sides, we spread it all out on the back lawn. We organized pieces by size, color, and shape, and then consulted the map. Great progress was made, but soon it all stopped; we were stuck. Diana voiced concern. I reassured her not to worry, we weren’t trying to reinvent the wheel. I returned the next day to the same stalemate. Finally, two grey suited men appeared from headquarters they claimed, bearing lingonberry jam. After some time, they had little to offer but further obfuscation. I concluded something was afoot, so off I went in our Wagon. But when I arrived between the two chemical lakes, the store was completely gone. Just an empty parking lot remained. With much haste I returned home to a yard of fire and billowing smoke. The chair was starting to launch. And Diana and Bennie were lifting off too! As it rose they smiled, and refused to look down. Soon they were just a small dot in the sky. I dropped to my knees in the grass, and happened to catch a small glint of steel. I picked it up. It was an L shaped wrench; and it was still warm.
