Description: When it comes to some of my most personal nostalgic patterns...it has to be hands down the Design Zomba...because for me and the time in my life when I was at my prime...a young earthling on junkets and archeological digs in boarded up South Beach hotels in the 80's...it was where I was first introduced to Design Zomba...it was apparent this pattern was made for Miami Beach...it was very popular...used in large quantities on guest rooms and spectacular greeting guests in Art Deco lobbies and as the sea breezes rushed through the open front doors...spilling into the romance of boutique hotels...sandy terrazzo floors...and the fresh smell of tropical florals in vases everywhere you turned...for this young vintage soul...it was like being on the sunken Titantic...and seeing the blight and what once was...it is now something forever etched in my soul...as you can never recreate memories...times...and places...but one thing was clear...Design Zomba was seemingly made for Ocean Drive... This offering is for ONE unused unwashed remnant of the elusive DESIGN ZOMBA pattern in the most rare colorway out there. I have TWO available sold individually. A lemon chartreuse ground with iconic tropical leaves that make up this Miami Beach Art Deco favorite. I first showcased this fabric at Art Deco Weekend in Miami Beach in 2006 when I did a textile lecture for the Miami Beach Art Deco Preservation Society...it is where the world first saw this iconic pattern that was made popular by the specific tropical deco scene in the hotels. To much fanfare I showcased a bolt I had that was found in Miami Beach in the 80;s...this remnant is what I have left. Unused...unwashed and stored impeccably for the last 80+ years...a creamy chartreuse lemon...striking aqua greens...jqdeite teals...varied creamy charcoal grays...pink red...with black and white accents...signed "Guaranteed to be Vat Print Zomba"...traditional weave cotton textured barkcloth...1930's Art Deco at its finest...a FABULOUS opportunity for many an old soul! Its smashing. Designer and collector ready! Measures 24 inches wide x 38 inches long. Flawless...the first one is signed and the second one is not. I take returns...but who wants to take a return right? So I do my best to add lots of photos that depict the weight and texture and do so thoughtfully so you are getting the most virtual experience. Please only buy if you know you really want it...in other words...I'm here to have the best selling experience and I can't do that without your help. With that said...of course I will take a return...I'm just hoping more the pricing will WOW YA over wanting to return it :) Here is to a summer of fabulous Florida Finds. :)
