This note was issued by "The State of Chihuahua" or "El Estado De Chihuahua." This is the 10 February 1914 decree series F fifty Pesos banknote. The banknote depicts the portraits of Francisco Madero (President of the United Mexican States) and Abraham Gonzales (Governor of the State of Chihuahua) in black and white over a green colored background with black writing on the front. It displays the denomination at the four corners and has three signatures. The back is very light yellow to orange in color with an unidentifiable image within a central frame. The back also has the denomination displayed in all four corners. The back does have a scalloped treasury seal for the state of Chihuahua in violet. The back also displays printed in violet block letters "S-XCI". This particular note has the serial number 92610 on the front twice in red and does not display the serial number on the back. The note has three signatures displayed on the front but has no water mark that we could find. The paper of the note is thick and stiff with several vertical folds/creases. The colors of the note are still vivid on the front. Please carefully review the scans as they are part and parcel of our description. Date: Decree of 10 February 1914. Printer: Unknown. Size: The banknote measures ~7 1/4" by ~3". Pick Number: S538b Condition: I would grade this banknote as nice very fine or better with all the details being well preserved. The note has three vertical folds/creases and light general wrinkling. It is lightly soiled but has no stains, no pinholes, and no graffiti. The edges of the note show minor wear and roughness. The corners are intact with some bumps and light rounding. The note exhibits some stiffness and has no tears, or splits. It does have some concentrated soiling on the back along the vertical creases. Additionally, the note's back is very light to the point where the image on the back is not identifiable. This is most likely is an artifact of the printing and is original to the making of the note.
