Description: MESSERSCHMITT ME-262 WWII Jet Fighter 1/48 Scale This is a Lindberg Line plastic kit of a WWII German jet fighter/fighter bomber. The Me-262 was operational in mid 1944 in very limited numbers, but was not very effective until March of 1945. It had a maximum speed of 900 kph (560 mph) and a max range of 1050 km (650 miles), and a ceiling of 11,450 m (37,570 ft). German pilots claimed 542 allied aircraft shot down, but was vulnerable to allied fighters when taking off, landing and on the ground. A good number were shot down by antiaircraft fire while attacking airfields. The Me-262 had little effect on the was due to its small numbers.
