If you are an old teddy bear or toy collector this teddybear is perfect to add to your collection A toy manufacturing company established in 1930 in the United Kingdom. The company specialises in soft toys, especially teddy bears. It is the last remaining British teddy bear factory to still make its products in Britain and is located at Ironbridge in Shropshire. The company's Ironbridge site has a small museum open to the public, as well as being where the toys are made. The site is a former iron foundry building on the banks of the River Severn, less than half a mile upstream from the world-famous Iron Bridge itself. The vicinity is known as Dale End, lying at the bottom of the Coalbrookdale valley, and falls within the wider Ironbridge Gorge World Heritage Site. Merrythought Cheeky Bears first appeared in 1957 and is still being produced to the present day. Face with an impish grin and is a lovely example of a Cheeky teddy bear. He has a Merrythought Ironbridge Shrops, This handsome old bear is quite rare, cute, cuddly and full of character. Approx. 17” tall with black/amber eyes. Yellow gold velveteen snout and black nose and mouth stitching. The blonde plush fur is in excellent condition. His ears and foot paw pads are brown velveteen but his hand paw pads are felt with 5 claws on each of his hand and foot paw pads. Winston like all cheeky bears has a little bell sewn inside both ear. He is 5 way jointed. He is filled with soft stuffing throughout. PLEASE NOTE - This Teddy Bear is many years old and therefore not suitable for children under 14 years.
