Description: Mens Medium*** Tin Duck Denim Co. Black Heavy Waxed Cotton Canvas Trucker Jacket ***See actual measures below. Handmade in the Pacific Northwest, USA I got this made to order as pictured — the maker doesn't include any additional tags, brochure, paperwork, etc. I was drawn to the trucker style with the zipper & storm flap with snap closure combination (storm flap is a useful feature in a heavy-duty jacket ~ as an aside, I once rode a motorcycle with a heavy canvas material work jacket that only had a zipper without a storm-flap feature & I could really feel the chilling wind squeeze & blow through the zipper teeth). I also like the shape of the front hand pockets in this jacket — they hold items (tools, gloves, etc.) more securely than plain “slash” front pockets that you find in some other “trucker” style jackets. I prefer that the pockets are not lined. They can serve as a tool "bucket dump" pocket in the moment, though admittedly, they do not feel "cozy". I only tried it on, but did not start wearing it. Decided it is way thicker/heavier than I need or anticipated when I ordered it. It is STIFF (it can stand on its own, at least right now). I think the jacket would be better put to use by someone whose work & or activities would actually benefit from its robustness & protective properties to the fullest. Also, there are 2 snaps at the waist "cinch" straps, because, per the maker, the fabric is too thick for 1 snap to keep it "cinched" securely at the waist. Jacket is completely unlined, including all pockets. Waxed canvas jackets are never to be washed (in a washing machine), and should only cleaned as needed with products such as an 'Otter Wax Canvas Cleaner' (or other similar "homemade" versions ~ basically a watered down soapy solution). I didn’t see how that cleaning & maintenance is helped by having a lining layer. It seemed that a lining would have different cleaning requirements & would complicate the maintenance requirement. It just seemed a hassle to me. I figured you could get "close enough" to the "lining feel" with the layer(s) you wore under the jacket. I saw this jacket more as a protective “SHELL” that could be turned inside out & then just wipe down as needed without having to worry about a lining with different cleaning requirements. You can also order one from the maker for $400 + around $20 s/h. •PET FREE & SMOKE FREE Measurements made with jacket laid flat: Shoulder seam to shoulder seam - 18.75 in.Chest (pit to pit) - 21.5 in.Sleeves - 25 in. Waxed Cotton Twill (24 oz/sq yard after the waxing process)Snapped storm flap with military black finish snaps — the maker replied to my email inquiry that he prefers the black snaps because they will patina fairly quickly to a dark brownish brass (vs. the antique brass snaps, that are coated with a lacquer finish — once that rubs off it is a normal brass snap). Sounds like the patina of the black snaps will give a visual hint of "earthiness" to the otherwise an all black color palette (kind of like the "teacore" effect referred to in boots).#10 YKK brass zipper closure2 chest pockets2 hand warmer pockets2** inside pockets - each: 5 in. x 6.75 in.
