Description: Vintage Melody Mill North Riverside Illinois Roller Skating Rink &Ballroom brass tag/token. My research has shown this is most likely where this tag was used at, and I got this from a location close to the old rink. From the web: "The Melody Mill opened in North Riverside, on the site of a former picnic grove, during the Depression, around mid-November 1930." It's my understanding that the rink closed in 1947 and the entire building closed for good for all purposes in 1984 and was demolished. The tag is about the size of a U.S. silver dollar or larger. I have a "Ladies" and a "Men" tag. I'm guessing they were used to rent skates. Exonumia from North Riverside is scarce. Please email with any questions. First class shipping and handling is $1.00 (International shipping is more). Thanks!
