Description: A chunky, 70's California Dune-Buggy cowlick-serifed font contrasts sharply with elongated Art Deco/Nouveau-esque lettering, both heralding this 2006 Mel Ramos retrospective, on a poster featuring none other than the canonical Pop Art Female Superheroine work Señorita Rio, from 1963. The colors of the original lettering from the painting and subsequent limited edition prints (one of which is in the permanent collection of NY's Museum of Modern Art) are reworked with a completely different duotone treatment, while the brushstrokes are reproduced pretty faithfully on this lightweight glossy sheet.
