Description: The Meisel Spitfire J-2 electric violin (manufactured by Neo) is one sharp looking instrument. The uniquely shaped body is formed from impact resistant, engineered plastic. The neck is made of a composite, but features a full sized solid ebony fingerboard. Because these materials are so durable, this reasonably priced instrument is ideal for the road musician. In addition to being war zone friendly this violin is weather resistant. It will not be harmed by sudden temperature and humidity changes.The high-impedance humbucking pickup is very quiet and virtually eliminates all surface and bow noise. Unlike a typical transducer, it has a full and balanced sound. A volume control is mounted on the top of the violin and the built-in 1/4 inch jack accepts any standard guitar cord. Other features include a fully adjustable metal tailpiece, adjustable(height) bridge, solid ebony pegs, chinrest and endpin. Provision is made for the attachment of almost any shoulder rest. This instrument is in very good shape, with a few scrape marks on the neck and head stock (see photos 8 and 9). There are no cracks, stains, breaks, or discolorations. It comes with a hardshell case and full size bow.You don't see these very often, and they're no longer being made. If you want it, you better jump on it!
