My parents sailed first class from Southampton to New York City on the ship's 7th voyage across the Atlantic, leaving England on July 11th, 1969 and arriving in Manhattan five days later. (My Dad liked to say that if you're going to make the trip, then go east so you'll get another five hours on the ship due to the changes of various time zones.) This nuimbered Cunard ticket for passage, or "Passage Contract Ticket", was purchsed in Buffalo, New York at the Pieper Travel Bureau on April 22, 1969. That means it was bought EVEN BEFORE the QE2's maiden voyage from England to the United States, which took place about two weeks later when the oceanliner left Southampton on May 2, 1969! That makes this an even more interesting and attractive Cunard collectible!
