A charming statuette of a Star Gazer, extremely rare as virtually every head was broke from the body when made as an offering. This excavated example came with its head and has been professionally restored. Originates from Majapahit Empire, region of Trowulan, Eastern Java, Indonesia, 13th-14th century. 821 years old approximately. Its an impressive statement piece that will fit well into any Museum collection or displayed privately, a luxury medieval item that is guaranteed to delight.Terracotta items of this type have been found extensively around the site of Trowulan, East Java and would have been an offering, the heads always broken from the body.It is a very scares example complete without professional restoration joining head back to body. Anyone who purchase this wonderful head will be extremely pleased to own it. The Majapahit Empire was a powerful and wealthy maritime Empire based in Eastern Java that flourished during the 13th-16th centuries.
