Description: Mechanical Mailing Card Girl From Rector's Waiter delivers a Lobster and a pop up shows a lady presenting it. Printed 1908 or 1909 “mailing card” term predates "postcard" and in this case this is more like a trade card that was designed to be mailed. The Girl from Rectors was a Broadway show starring William Burress and written by Paul M. Potter; from the French version by Pierre Veber It ran at the Weber's Music Hall from Feb 01, 1909 - Jul 1909. The Internet Broadway Database shows it ran for 185 performances, but the card states Coming Soon, 300 nights - so it looks like the run was cut short. Who knows, but at least this charming bit of ephemera exists to give us clues as to its content.
