Description: This is a pair of newly designed replacement driver boards for the Mcintosh MC2100 amplifier. These new boards are built to the specification of the MC service manual NO.038-948. Original transistors have been replaced with modern equivalent. All components are high quality audio grade. Vishay resistors, WIMA and Panasonic film capacitors, and new old stock (NOS) Motorola stabistor diodes under the custom machined heatsink. The FR4 PCB is dual layered with 2oz copper traces with ENIG gold solder and contact points. This board was created to replace tired worn-out driver boards. With age, original boards show signs of heat damage. They may brown spots, lift traces or fail completely. This new board is manufactured with better heat resistance in mind. All solder points are through hole to reduce the chance of trace lift. The dual layer board allows better trace routing. The original 5watt resistor is replaced with a larger 10watt unit and space for heat to dissipate. The custom machined aluminum heatsink provides ample thermal capacity for all three transistors while also transferring heat to the stabistor diode. These boards are hand assembled and tested in a service mc2100 This is not an official product of Mcintosh. These boards are intended to be used on a fully functional amplifier. These boards will not provide a fix for an amplifier experiencing any performance or reliability issues. The pair of boards have the same footprint as the original boards. They may work in the MC 2105 or MC 2300 amplifiers.
