It's not without its modern appointments, though - the heel is contoured for far greater fret access than an original J. Mayones once again nailed it with the configuration of the Delano pickups and proprietary Mayones preamp. Switchable between passive and active, the Delano pickups are hum-canceling and have a bit more output than old-school pickups whilst retaining awesome versatility. If you're looking for an axe that has a decidedly modern sound but still possesses that passive vintage vibe, then look no further! In passive mode, the Delano pickups are dead silent and have a bit more punch and output to them than a traditional J-bass single-coil.
