Description: Here is a bit of an odd set of trains that Marx put out during their "Quaker Oats" period, starting around 1968. It is a little battery powered train set, looks roughly HO sized, that runs on a pair of C cell batteries. Engine, tender, coal hopper, and work caboose with fences. That was the whole train. It had track that I believe was only used in these little Hong Kong battery sets and nowhere else (track is marked on the bottom, as I show in a closeup). These were meant as an entry level, disposable train. The great thing here is no breaks on any of the cars or engine, and as you can see in the last picture, the headlight still lights! The motor, however, did NOT RUN, engage or make any noise at all. (Batteries NOT included. I had to put them back in the flashlight!). There are 6 curved track sections and 4 short straight sections that I got with it. 4 curves make a circle, so perhaps extra track. But I do know that they made a crossover and switches in this size, so not really sure. Anyway, what is here is in great shape! Photos from all 6 sides on the train items, and I tried to show tops and bottoms on all the track (no breaks there, either).
