Description: Dianna Swartz, who drew this magnificent crossprint between folk and modern of Martha Washington, hails from southern Ohio, where my western Pennsylvania-based sister Betsy must have first heard about her. Swartz, who now lives in North Carolina, taught herself to work in a thousand media. Her work has been acknowledged; she's designed ornaments for the Ohio Governor’s residence and for the White House. She is exhibited in the Museum of American Folk Art and with The Colonial Williamsburg Foundation. I wish I could do better than show you these photographs. There's a terrific amount of subtlety in Swartz' work, from textures and shading to her simple choice of content. (Not to mention that I couldn't get the glare off the glass!) I also don't know the medium; this was my late sister Betsy's. The artwork, 10" sq., looks to be on a medium of a very high quality photographic print, extremely tight grain, perfect colors, high resolution, etc. Finally, the print is professionally framed, also in Ohio. Of course, none of this matters, if you're not a fan of the period and/or Martha Washington, as my sister was. It's a handsome artwork, portrait, framed piece that would embellish any guestroom, den, livingroom, office, etc. Thanks for reading...from this AI Free Zone!Rick
