Many are from early performances when revisions were common and include song titles that were cut before opening in New York ....... This is a rare July 1969 playbill from the out-of-town tryout of the WILSON STONE, LARRY B. MARKS and ROBERT ENNIS TUROFF musical flop "HELLO, SUCKER" at the Valley Forge Music Fair in Devon, Pennsylvania. (The production premiered July 8th, 1969 at the Casa Manana Theatre in Fort Worth, Texas and made the Summer Music Fair circuit but cancelled the scheduled Broadway opening.) ..... Based on the life of TEXAS GUINAN, the musical starred the late MARTHA RAYE as "Texas Guinan" and featured DENNIS PATRICK, JOSEPH MASCOLO, ED PENN, TOM MIXON, DONALD L. NORRIS, SANDI McCREADIE, JANET WELLS, MICHON PEACOCK, RENEE BAUGHMAN, MERRY LYNN KATIS, SANDRA WEST, VIOLET SANTANGELO, ORRIN REILEY and GEORGE BLACKWELL ..... CONDITION: With the exception of creasing to the lower right corner and minor edge wear, this rare playbill is in excellent condition and will make a wonderful addition to the collection of any musical theatre aficionado or historian. This item will be carefully packaged in a protective, carded sleeve and backed by stiff cardboard.
