Description: Here's a Mark Catesby print titled 'Perca Piunis & c.'. His prints are from the Natural History of Carolina, Florida and the Bahama Islands. British naturalist Mark Catesby (1683-1749) collected specimens and made paintings of diverse flora and fauna he encountered on two extended trips to America between 1712 and 1726. He published his work in two volumes of hand-colored copperplate engravings with descriptive text. These prints are from the Dietz Press printed in the 20th Century as a high quality reproduction under the Colonial Williamsburg Restoration label. They are hand colored, and on simulated Antique paper. The condition is excellent, unframed, full margins, measuring 18.5" x 24".
