WARNING: To prevent electrocution, make sure the power to the receptacle is turned off, and cannot be turned on, while installing the receptacle cover Failure to comply with the following instructions could cause an electrical failure or fire. This cover is designed to be installed on a smooth, rigid surface. Peel off the adhesive backing of the enclosed neoprene gasket and apply it to the rear of the cover. This will create a weather tight seal between the receptacle cover and the outlet box. Additional caulking is not required. Mount the receptacle cover so that the hinge is at the top. Make certain that the face of the receptacle is flush, or protrudes no more than 1/16" beyond the surface of the cover. Spacer washers (provided) should be used under the mounting strap of the receptacle to make this adjustment. The receptacle cover for 50A receptacles (Cat. No. 7788CR) does not need washers under the 50A receptacle's mounting strap. Securely tighten the four screws that fasten the cover. Make certain that the neoprene gasket is visible around the edges of the cover after tightening the screws. If the gasket is not visible, there might not be a weather tight seal between the cover and the enclosure.
