Breast cancer survivor Rennie Wilford, a young journalist and travel writer, flies to the Caribbean to recuperate on the tiny fictional island of St. Antoine. However she is confronted by island politics and a populace on the brink of a revolution. Title page reads: Bodily Harm – Margaret Atwood – Published by McClelland and Stewart, Toronto, c. 1981 It is signed by the author in black pen on the inside front endpaper. This 301 page, 9 ¼ by 6 ¼ inch hardcover is in fairly good condition. The pages are clear and the binding is solid. There is a personal inscription: Mrs. Doreen Arthur at the top of the inside front purple endpaper. The off-yellow and purple cloth cover with yellow spine title has just a hint of wear along the edges. The dust jacket is complete with its original price of $16.95 which someone put pen marks through. The dust jacket designed by Don Fernley has some wear and chipping at the base of the spine. There are small closed edge tears along the bottom edge of the front panel and along the top edge of the back panel. There is a bit of darkening along the spine.
