It's a classic integrated amp at heart, with 70 watts per channel to drive your speakers, plus a wealth of digital and analog connections. It's also a state-of-the-art network player that gives you access to popular streaming apps, internet radio, and Apple AirPlay 2. An excellent built-in DAC (digital-to-analog converter) plays back digital files with up to 24-bit/192kHz resolution. And the amp is compatible with voice control via optional Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa devices, for the ultimate in convenience. Inputs and outputs I love the convenience of streaming, but I always have components I want to connect to an integrated amp. The Model 40n offers three standard line-level RCA audio inputs, plus a discrete phono stage for connecting a turntable with a moving magnet cartridge. A variety of digital sources can be connected, too — there are individual coaxial digital and optical digital inputs, plus a Type-A USB port, an Ethernet port, and an HDMI ARC port for boosting your TV sound.
