Description: This is a unique mid 19th century (or older) Maori Taiaha. This reddish brown aged wood is very attractive. Interestingly, this specimen's eyes (specifically, its pupils)....are pegs. Quite unusual. There's a very old hole in the shaft -- possibly for attachment of a feather bundle (lost ages ago). ***See photos for best description. I've owned/sold quite a lot of 19th century Maori weapons. Here's another fine example. It looks 1000x better in person!!! Measurements: Full length is 64 inches/ Width of Upoko is 2 inches.
