Description: "Manual of Chess" is a 349 page, 5.75"x8.75" hardcover written by Emanuel Lasker and published in 1947 by David McKay Company (Philadelphia). This is the 3rd printing; it was first published in 1927. The author was the World Chess Champion for 27 years (1894-1921) and here shares his knowledge of the game. The book is in acceptable condition. The dust jacket is covered in clear plastic but the black tape meant to protect the edges has failed and there's soiling and moisture stains (though it's hard to make out how much this affects the dust jacket itself, and not just the plastic). The back of the jacket is wavy. The black cloth boards are soiled, as is the text block at the top. On a positive note the interior is unmarked and clean, if a bit age-toned, and the binding is firm. International buyers – please note: Import duties, taxes, and charges aren't included in the item price or postage cost. These charges are the buyer's responsibility. Please check with your country's customs office to determine what these additional costs will be, prior to bidding or buying.
