Her PhD research was focused on the phytochemical analysis and pharmacological properties of mangrove plants and their associated fungal endophytes. Nabeelah has authored and coauthored more than 45 publications in high impact factor journals and in prestigious books with several other articles and book chapters under preparation or review. Nabeelah published her first authored book entitled "Mangroves with Therapeutic Potential for Human Health" with Elsevier in 2022. Dr. Mahomoodally read for his MPhil/PhD in collaboration between University of Mauritius and H.E.J Research Institute of Chemistry and Dr. Panjwani Center for Molecular Medicines and Drug Research, Karachi, Pakistan. He was promoted on a fast track basis from lecturer to senior lecturer and then Professor. He served as Head of Department of Health Sciences (2016-2018), and Board Member of Association for African Medicinal Plant Standards. He led a team from Mauritius to participate in the Technology, Innovation, and Entrepreneurship in Africa program, at Harvard University, John F. Kennedy School of Government, Executive Education in 2016.
