Description: This is a custom 12" figure commemorating one of my favorite characters, US Army head nurse- Major Margaret "Hot Lips" Houlihan from the tv series M*A*S*H*. The series M*A*S*H* ran on CBS from September 17th, 1972 through February 28th, 1983. The tv series was a comedy/drama, set in the Korean War that followed the lives of the people assigned to the 4077th Mobile Army Surgical Hospital (4077th M*A*S*H*) unit. The series was the first spinoff of the 1970 feature film M*A*S*H*, which was based on a book from 1968- "MASH A Novel About Three Army Doctors". The series had great stories with believable characters. The series survived (and thrived) multiple cast changes through its 11 year run. Swit was one of only four characters that were with the series through its entire run. The other three were-Alan Alda (played doctor Captain Benjamin Franklin "Hawkeye" Pierce), William Christopher (played Chaplain Father John Mulcahy), and Jamie Farr (played orderly Corporal Maxwell Klinger). there were several other great actors/ characters that were in the series over the years. The series finally was the most watched episode in American history from 1983 - 2010. Major Houlihan was the head nurse and a very strong character. Although this figure does not look exactly like Margaret Houlihan / Loretta Swit, there is a bit of a resemblance.
