Description: This Macurco GD-1S gas detector for use with 12 volt DC control panels or 12 volt DC vehicles. Perfect for boats buses motorhomes garages businesses and homes. It detects many gases including natural gas propane gasoline and alcohol. With its surface mount design it could be mounted practically anywhere and covers a 900 ft area. When mounted high it will detect gases that are lighter than air such as natural gas or hydrogen. When mounted low it can detect such gases as butane propane ethanol methanol or gasoline. The unit connects to 12 volt DC and can be used in conjunction with a security system or a standalone alert system, such as a buzzer or strobe. The unit has never been installed although it does show some shelfware due to the fact that it's an open box item. Instructions are included. Searching the internet most of these gas detectors are in the upwards of $300 to $400 but you can pick this one up for considerable amount less.
