Description: This drum is so rare, even my nerdy self didn’t know it existed! This is a 1984 (birth year!) Ludwig “75th Anniversary” 6.5x14 bronze snare drum. This is #57/100 drums produced that year. It features an ENGRAVED floral pattern shell (look closely) as well as a unique brass commemorative badge with all of the Ludwig namesakes as well as a super sensitive mechanism. The bronze drums from this era are heavy and dark sounding. People are just now starting to get hip to them and how good they are. Ludwig has changed suppliers of their metal shells many, many times over the years without any fanfare. You have to know. This was a good era. Bronze drums from this era are usually very corroded from sweat eating away at the clear coat and giving the shell dark spots of patina - not this bad boy! It’s in excellent shape for a 40 year old drum.
