Description: Presented is a lovely American Brilliant Period cut glass bowl. This piece is not signed, as is common with American Brilliant pieces, but the quality and intricacy of the decoration suggest a well known, high end maker like Hawkes, Tuthill, Dorflinger, etc. We have been told that this bowl is in the Carolyn pattern by J. Hoare. The bowl is beautifully cut with profuse decoration in the form of hobstars, Russian check, starbursts, and other dazzling designs, all extremely crisp and well done. The glass is thick and heavy, of excellent quality. This is a smaller size bowl than a more typical centerpiece or fruit type bowl, with high sides and a toothed, wavy rim. This piece is in great overall condition. The top rim is in great shape, with only the most minor nicks/flea bites here and there, but nothing noticeable without close, careful inspection. No serious chips, no cracks, no breaks, and no repairs. No sickness or clouding to the glass. The dish measures about 6 inches in diameter and stands about 3 inches tall at the rim. -jm Powered by SixBit's eCommerce Solution
