Description: Up for sale is a nice, large, oil on canvas by well known and listed artist Louis Lundean (1894-1961). Lundean is best known for his drawings that included horses and of the west. He is a well listed artist with numerous auction sales. His work is well represented in museums and private collections around the world. This particular painting is a large oil on canvas possibly of a WWI scene in a sort of impressionist style. It measures approximately 41 x 30 inches. Signed lower right by the artist. Unframed but on stretcher. Painting has some condition issues. A couple of scrapes (see photos) one measuring approximately 4 inches at top right center. A second, less significant one about the same size at upper center left. A small piece of missing canvas, some other scratches, a stain at back of canvas, the painting needs to be re-tacked to stretcher (see photo of bottom right) and other dings here and there. While not perfect, with a little care and a nice frame this is a great piece. Pretty large by comparison to other work of his, this is one of the more impressive works I can find by Lundean.
