Part of a set of 60 English-language pamphlets produced by the Soviets for the 1939 New York World's Fair. Although the Fair ran until nearly the end of 1940, the Soviet Pavilion was razed at the end of 1939. Lot includes: * The Moscow Subway by Y. Abakumov. 24 pp. * The Greater Volga by S. Zhook. 32 pp. with two color maps tipped in at back. * Magnitogorsk by Academician A. Baikov. 31 pp.with embossed plate with metallic ink on front cover. * The Moscow-Volga Canal by A. Kamorovsky. 24 pp. * A New Moscow In Construction by D. Chechulin. 32 pp.* Soviet Cities New And Renewed by Prof. I. Golossov. 31 pp. Pamphlets are softcover with decorative letterpress-printed covers on heavyweight cream-colored stock. Staple bound. Some rust to staples. Stamped on rear covers with prices in kopeks and again in ink (with prices in dollars). All volumes are in Very Good condition, except for "Magnitogorsk," (which has scattered marks on the rear cover) and "A New Moscow In Construction" (which has some soiling on the front cover.).
