Description: Vintage dyed straw trinket box Victorian style houses lot 5 A set of 5 Meow Reo houses, which have hidden trinket boxes inside. They were made in China in the 1970's and 1980's. All of them have the original paper bottoms and seem to be very intact for their age and fragility. Even the tiny compartments are lined with the matching paper. The larger boxes are lined in red cloth. They weigh almost nothing! The detail is amazing when you realize each detail is not painted on, but is a dyed and applied piece of wheat straw. A lovely group for a collector, or to start a new collection!
