Description: Lot of 2 ALICE & JERRY Books: Rides & Slides, Here & There ~ 1936 great picturesWRITTEN AND ILLUSTRATED BY 4 WOMEN These 2 books have a completely different art style than the other primers of the period. It really is the artwork that separates these Alice & Jerry books from the Dick & Jane books. Both book series came out at the same time. Dick & Jane surpassed Alice & Jerry in popularity, but looking at their Art Deco influenced illustrations, I sure can't figure out why. Illustrators Florence & Margaret Hoopes were true artists. It looks as if they did the illustration for the Alice & Jerry books in watercolor. And PLEASE NOTE: The 2 authors and the 2 illustrators are ALL WOMEN. Please look at all the photos and read everything I've written about the condition and description of this item. Contact me via eBay if you have any questions that the photos or description do not answer. If I can ship them to you safely for less, I will refund you any significant difference. I'm a highly rated seller and I ship quickly. It'll come to you from a smoke-free, pet-free house. Thanks for the consideration.
