Description: This is a super unique and rare collection of very old German coins. All are from an old estate on Galveston Island. The estate belonged to four generations of Germans who moved to Galveston in the late 1800s and helped build the city in the early 1900s. The collection includes a rare 1913 90% silver Drei Mark coin commemorating the 100-year anniversary of Napoleon’s defeat. It was made into a pendant, as many of them were then. The coin has not been cleaned, so as not to damage its 100-year plus patina. Also included is a one-of-a-kind piece of trench art. It is the Wilhelm II type copper 1 pfennig coin with the added shamrock over the year. This coin was minted between 1890 and 1916 and appears to have been worn as a pendant at one time. The oldest coin is a copper-Nickel 5 pfennig piece minted in 1875. The last piece is a 1 Mark coin minted in 1924 and is 50% silver. All of these rare pieces still have their original patina. Don’t let this rare collection get away. Shipping insurance is included Discount shipping for multiple purchases
