Description: Each lot will contain 1,000+ Long Red tobacco seeds. The growing of tobacco and rolling of cigars has a rich and ancient history. If you are anything like me, you can only learn and experience so much from reading and watching others. To truly appreciate a good cigar, you have to get your hands dirty. Caring for a plant from seed to cigar is a amazing experience. This variety of cigar tobacco is Long Red. This variety is a heirloom strain of the time honored Havana line. It is the best producing cigar strain we have grown. It's leaves are quite long, and dry to a beautiful deep red color, hence the name. Most cigar strains have a wider and shorter leaf shape. The leaves average 14" in width and can get from 30" to 36" in length. Long Red has a very desirable flavor with notes of leather and spice. The flavor and nicotine strength are highest in the upper leaves of the plants, while the lower leaves can be quite mild. While historically grown as cigar filler, Long Red provides beautiful wrapper and binder as well.
