Description: Drosera capensis cape sundew plant This is a fun beginner carnivorous plants as it can tolerate less light than North American pitcher plants and Venus fly traps, but still needs a decent amount, and would benefit from a grow light when kept indoors. This plant is green with red sticky traps. Presence of dew means it is receiving sufficient amount of light. If plant loses dew, increase light. This is considered a bog plant and as such should be kept in a tray of water at all times. Do not allow to dry out completely. Water requirements are collected, rainwater, distilled water, or reverse osmosis water that has not been re-mineralized zero water pitcher is also sufficient but other filtering water pictures may not remove enough dissolved solids. Zero Water pitcher comes with a TDS meter and you should keep it under 50 to ensure the plant is happy. If your tapwater has low TDS reading, it will suffice. In mild temperate environments, you can leave these outdoors all year around. This is a subtropical plant and as such will die back if left in freezing temperatures and may completely die if not rescued in time. Listing is for one plant, there are many available, and I can give volume discount, please inquire before making purchase, and I will customize listing. Note I am very serious about controlling disease and pests and take preventative measures year-round by using pollinator-friendly sulfur to prevent mold and fungus, as well as fans for proper airflow to also prevent. I will treat pests by either full submersion underwater, or apply spinosad, which is an OMRI listed Biological agent that will attack spidermites, thrips, and aphids. I find this works much better than the systemic, it seems that there has been a tolerance occurring, and the only casualties were unintended. Please note that I do not have heat packs and will consider the temperature of where the plant is going to, as well as where it's coming from and going along the way. During polar vortex freezes, I will hold off shipping. These plants are pretty hardy and will be packed with plenty of insulation, however, I will not ship on a Friday because they will just sit over the weekend in an unheated warehouse.
