Wear occasionally goes onto the boards. Corners have leather worn away from the boards. More than 250 years have treated these books well, there are no markings in these copies. Red page edges still bright. Binding is in good Shape. None of these books lay flat as was common for books of this era. Volume 1 : Back hinge leather is worn and separated about a fifth of the way up. Weakness to the binding around 2 thirds of the way through between signatures. Top of spine is worn away, leather detached. Volume 2 : front hinge leather worn away at the top, label on the spine partially detached. Volume 3 : Best condition of the volumes included here. Spine in very good condition. Volume 5 : Back hinge has worn apart up about a quarter of the way, bottom of the spine shows wear. Leather worn away on the front of front board.
