Description: Listed (Northeast) American Artist Elmer Phillip Schwab (1907-1991) Signed, on lower right, this Pensive and Personal Figure by Pier, Shoreline Waterscape. Schwab's work has been exhibited at the Salmagundi Club in NYC. It is an Original Oil on Artist's Canvas board from c. 1930's-40's. A man stands quietly, hands in pockets, next to a wooden walkway under gray skies. A small brown boat seems to be the center of our figure's attention. Two other, larger, white boats sit moored by the pier. Thoughtful, calm scene with a lovely, muted color palette. 2 3/4" Wide Ribbed, Gilt moulding with a bead design around inner edge is included in this listing.Board measures 13 7/8 X 18 and is in to Good to Very Good Vintage condition w/ minor cracks/abrasion on right side (see last image for close-up).Outside measure of the frame is 18 1/2 X 22 1/2 and is in Good condition w/ some scuffs and a chip on the back of upper right corner.Please carefully examine all images for condition.Shipping fee includes frame and full insurance.
