Description: LIONEL 226E PREWAR ENGINE W/ 2226W DIECAST TENDER, RUNS, ORIGINAL (7)This is an original prewar era Lionel 226E with matching 2226w tender, this appears to be a 1939 engine and tender judging from the large rubber stamped number on bottom of the tender, tender usually has nickel box couplers but this one has the blackened journals, the engine runs but kinda dry and makes some noise, it needs servicing before much running, both could use a gentle cleaning to look better, the tender is nice with rubberstamped lettering both sides and has all the steps, it does not whistle possible needing servicing as well or a repair, original.
