Linear Translations Stages for Opto Mechanical Experiments Research

Description: Several types of STEEL one or two axis linear translation stages with or without Starrett model 263 micrometers with 1 inch range. These are heavy. (Note: There are only 1 of the single axis and 2 of the two axis total. Some of the Starrett micrometers have flat tips rather than spherical or ball bearing tips but they work well.) Line Tool Micrometer linear Stage - One Inch Range (with or without micrometer):Massive steel linear stage with or without Starrett micrometer. The platform is 2.125" (2-1/8", across) x 3". The mounting hole pattern is 1.5" (1-1/2", both directions), tapped 8-32 on top, 8-32 clearance holes 2-5/8" x 3-7/16 with shoulder on base. There are pegs that would normally be used to align a similar stage mounted on top for the orthogonal direction of travel (like the next one). They should not be removed but could probably be cut off flush. Very smooth, no free-play, may be adjusted or totally disassembled for TLC. One anomaly that I assume is a feature, not a bug, since it is present in all of the similar stages (this and the next one) is that if the micrometer is rotated fully CCW moving the stage against the stop, two of the ball bearings may fall out. There are still 3 on each side so the stability is not detectably compromised. A spacer could be easily glued to the frame to prevent the last mm of movement. Line Tool Two-Axis (X-Y) linear Stage - One Inch Range (with or without micrometers):Pair of massive steel linear stages like the above precisely joined (can be disassembled). One inch range on both. Two types available. Same platform size as the one above. Type 1 has 3 sets of 8-32 tapped holes 1-1/2" across spaced 1-1/4". Type 2 has 2 sets of 8-32 tapped holes 1-1/2" across spaced 1-1/4".No pegs on either. Very smooth, no free-play, may be adjusted or totally disassembled for TLC. Thanks for looking! :-) --- sam
