Once common, 50 varieties of the genus Liguus, in Florida are threatened by development and loss of habitat. Now protected, you can only get these shells from an old collection. 70 or more varieties of Liguus are found South, of Florida. They are also protected and can be only be found in old collections. These specimens are from such an old American collection, collected by a U.S. Citizen in the 1940’s. The specimens measures 4.2 and 33 cm. and comes with complete data.
