After singing at St. Thomas Church on Fifth Avenue in New York, the sixty men flew to Dublin where they sang Evensong in St. Patrick's Cathedral and presented a joint concert with the renowned Dublin Welsh Male Voice Choir. Then it was on to Edinburgh, Scotland's remarkable St. Giles Cathedral, south to the ancient York Minster, and on to London's towering St. Paul's Cathedral, as well as to Wren's more intimate offering at St. James's Piccadilly. West, then, to Llangollen, N. Wales and the famous International Eisteddfod, where the Mastersingers took first place in the intense male choir competition. The Mastersingers come from across the United States and several other countries. While its members enjoy distinguished careers in many professions, they are brought together by their love of music and of their maestro, Professor Bruce Mcinnes. For the first time on tour five sons have joined the troupe to sing alongside their fathers. Ages ranged from 18 to 58. Dr. Mcinnes stresses technical excellence, accuracy of pitch, and richness of tone quality to temper the enormous dynamic range of the choir, and insists that we never lose sight of the humanistic endeavor involved in making music. This is his legacy to the men he has inspired throughout his long career in music. Previous tours have taken many of these men around the world to perform in sixty countries on five continents. Their music has been heard in the world's greatest cathedrals as well as in tiny villages and even street corners as the spirit moves them.
