LG Refrigerator Water Filter Head Alignment Tool AKN72949003 ~Its not broken~

Description: Chances are your fridge is not broken. It's out of alignment. This tool will fix it safely. The below models all have a filter head (AKN72949003) with a design flaw that causes the head to be misaligned when you remove the filter. Eventually, it gets so far out of alignment you can't reinstall a new filter and it begins to leak. Keep the tool handy as it will happen again. Please do NOT use standard tools on the filter head. It's soft plastic and you will damage it. You do not need to tear apart your expensive fridge. And the average cost of repair is about $60 for the part and $300 in labor. Look at your filter head. If it looks like the one in the photos above and you don't see any obvious broken parts, then it's most likely not broken. Simply insert the tool and slowly rotate it counterclockwise until it stops. Do not force it. Pull the tool off and you should be good to go. The filter will now install correctly and no more leaks. Please note that I cannot guarantee your filter head is not broken, it does happen but most of the time it's fine.
